pharaphaseMedical Devices Training Microsite a web-based platform where you can directly access the Trusts Medical Devices Training records for your unit. What is the Microsite? This platform allows ward managers, and other authorised colleagues (such as medical device key trainers, ward administrators, clinical educators, etc.), to view and monitor the units overall medical devices training compliance, as well as individual staff compliance for specific devices. It provides a valuable resource for reviewing current training records, identifying outstanding training gaps, and ensuring any expired competencies are promptly updated. As per UHB guidelines, it is ultimately the responsibility of managers to keep the Medical Devices Training team informed of any staff changes to maintain accurate records. Additionally, it is crucial that you regularly monitor your wards/departments training compliance and address any gaps, as this is directly linked to staff appraisals and overall performance evaluations. How do I use the platform? Please take the time to review the attached resources that outline how to access and utilise the microsite (*1), including steps to follow when checking your Training Needs Analysis (TNA) compliance reports (*2), communicating any required changes, and addressing any training gaps (*3). Please also save these documents somewhere convenient so they are easy to access in the future (bookmarking/favouriting the microsite link in your web browser will also be very useful). Please note: when logging into the Microsite, you must use your normal UHB windows username and password that you use to log onto work computers. What do I do first? We have attached a copy of your wards TNA report (*4) to this email so you can review what your teams compliance is currently. The first step required for this is to review the staff and devices listed in this report to ensure the data we have is accurate (inaccuracies in this information make a direct impact on the percentage compliance, which should always aim to be above 80%). If you have recently sent us an updated staff list, this data should be correct, however, in the absence of this, we have relied on ESR information to monitor staff lists which is not always accurate please send any needed changes for staff and devices to Meddev@uhb.nhs.uk ASAP.I hope that you find these initial steps for this process simple to follow, however, if you would like to arrange a meeting or call to discuss this further, you can contact us via Meddev@uhb.nhs.uk or ext.18869 please feel free to reach out.
