Photovoice exercise: Capturing identities Using a smart cellphone or camera, take 3 photographs of objects, people, places that you feel represent what has shaped your identity and add a caption to each describing the photo. Alternatively, you may download images (e.g. cartoon characters), use family photos, cut pictures from magazines and newspapers that represent how your identity has been shaped. Remember the captions describing the image still need to be specific to your own identity formation. Present your work in the form of a poster. You can create your poster on PowerPoint or on a Word document. Your captions should be between 10-30 words each. The following questions may guide you in writing your captions: o Who/what is the image of? o Where and when was the image taken? o Where was the image sourced? o What does this person/place mean to you?
