Now, most of you have never done this BUT I want you to watch the video closely, take notes, and then complete the following assignment: Your assignment, should you decide to accept it, is to think like a master contractor. YOU are the project manager - YOU must decide what to do about raw materials, trades and crafts needed, etc. (I know you are not contractors but THINK: 1 probably need electricians, welders, pipe fitters) and who or what you need FIRST and then LAST. This assignment is 2 - 3 pages MAX! Page 1: A one page case study summarizing what must be done, considerations, and possibilities. Add in some problems you foresee and some ideas how to correct them. Page 2 -3: Using either a Network Diagram (Activity On Node) OR a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). draw how you believe things should proceed in order to make it work. Using Excel, create a Gantt Chart and correlate the steps on your AON /WBS Diagram with the crafts and trades that are needed and when they should be part of the job, how long they should stay, and when they should be done. The crafts, trades, specialists and when they will be involved will appear on the GANTT CHART. Think in terms of MONTHS - make everything MONTHS: steps on your diagrams, times on your Excel Gantt Chart, your summary.
