The Production Manager is in-charge of ensuring that all Oracle inventory transactions are completed, and no inventory movement is allowed during the physical count. The Production Manager downloads the Inventory on Hand report from Oracle into a spreadsheet and manually schedules the cycle counts. To create the count sheets, he manually hides the inventory quantity on hand information and distributes a printed blind inventory listing to the inventory count team composed of three warehouse personnel. Each inventory counter is responsible in performing the count, manually logging the count in the spreadsheet. The count spreadsheets are provided to the Production Manager who manually encodes the count to the spreadsheet and calculates the count variances. Inventories with variances above the pre-determined threshold are re-counted up to a maximum of 3 times. Once the count is finalized, the Production Manager records the count variance in Oracle, approves the variance and post the adjusting entry.
