Dear Joe Moore,

I hope this email finds you well.

I wanted to discuss some concerns that have been brought to my attention regarding our company's overall leadership style. Several employees, managers, and directors have expressed that the current laissez-faire approach is not adequately motivating or inspiring our workforce.

While I understand the value of empowering employees, it seems there might be an opportunity to enhance our leadership style to better align with our company's goals. I believe a more transformational leadership approach could be beneficial. This style focuses on inspiring and motivating employees, creating a shared vision, and fostering a culture of innovation. (Robbins, Judge, (2022))

I would like to schedule a meeting to discuss this further and explore potential strategies for implementing a more effective leadership style.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Heather McCool

President, LMC Company

Dear Heather McCool,

Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. Employee morale and motivation are critical to our company's success.

I appreciate you suggesting a transformational leadership style as a potential solution. I agree that inspiring and motivating our team is essential.

I'd like to propose a meeting to discuss this further. I believe it would be beneficial to gather more specific feedback from employees and managers to better understand the root causes of the perceived issues.

Perhaps we could schedule a joint meeting with HR to discuss potential leadership training or development programs.

I'm open to exploring different leadership approaches and am committed to fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Best regards,

Hello Class,

Solo Market Transaction: "Both the buyer and the seller in a solo exchange pursue their own self-interests" (Castleberry, 2021). My example of this would be when I bought my house. Our realtor cared if we saved some money and was trying to do his best, but the seller didn't care. He didn't want to negotiate the price down any, and wanted what he had listed the house for, even though it needed a little extra work. The most difficult factor to manage was nature of the relationship. We didn't want the seller to think we were being rude or asking of to much from him, so we kept things fairly safe in fear that he would just back out of the deal.

Functional Relationship Transaction: "Functional relationships are long-term market exchanges characterized by behavioral loyalty" (Castleberry, 2021). My example of this would be my Dutch Bros drinks. They have an app that helps you earn points to get free drinks. Dutch Bros wants repeat business and they figured out a way to make it happen. I don't think anything has been hard to manage in this relationship, the prices have stayed fairly reasonable and I only have to deal with them when I want a coffee.

Relational Partnership: "Salesperson and buyer work together to solve important problems. The partners are not concerned about small details because they trust each other" (Castleberry, 2021). My example of this is my nail tech. I get my nails done every two week and sometimes we have to reschedule or I have to come back later and it's no big deal because we have a good friendship. She also trusts me to bring cash at my next nail appointment in case I forgot to bring it with me at the previous on. The only hard thing for me is the risk in the relationship, because she is my husbands step mom, and does all of my extended families nails, so anything I tell her could potentially get out to everyone, which could be a big risk.

Strategic Partnerships: "long-term business relationships in which the partner organizations make significant investments to improve profitability of both parties" (Castleberry, 2021). This would be my job as a waitress. If I give good service, I will get a better tip. The factor I struggle with most is potential benefits, because even if I provide the best service, some people still give a low tip because it's either all they can afford, or they don't believe in tipping culture.
