I wish I could say that I was blissfully unaware of the toll that gun violence takes on our youth, but it is glaringly apparent to anyone in my field. Recently, my state chose to give essential amnesty to juveniles under a certain age for any crimes. This lead to adult offenders, utilizing these children for everything from distribution to murder. With the culture the way it is, it is easy for these criminals to find children willing to take a small stint in juvenile prison, for what would cost them possible life without parole. I would not be surprised if these kinds of legislation has lead to an uptick in child gun violence. Great topic.
