Negligence Challenge (Group Assignment) As a manager of any business, it is important that you can identify hazards and practices that could leave your company vulnerable to a lawsuit. One of the most common types of legal problems Hospitality businesses face is a civil suit where negligence causes injury. To identify vulnerabilities, you must be able to understand and recognize elements that are present and could satisfy a negligence claim. Review the conditions that must be met for a negligence claim to occur in Chapter 2 and 4 of your textbooks along with the case studies and rulings. Find a hazard in a public place that could result in a negligence claim against a business. "Evidence" to support your case of vulnerability to a negligence claim should be presented. Evidence presented should include photos of the hazard, location and all the particulars that make this a potential negligence case. To complete this assignment successfully you must be able to present a theory where all the elements of a negligence claim could be met. Analyze and discuss the likelihood of an injury taking place. Your instructor will give you a timeframe to locate a hazard and a set amount of time to prepare the presentation of your legal argument.
