Grade 12 C Law Assignment on the Charter of Rights Women in Canada who choose to completely cover their face and/or body according to their cultural traditions and religious beliefs are facing retribution, discrimination, and threatened loss of employment. It is clear, that there has been an anti-Muslim sentiment or feeling across this country. This issue came to the forefront again in Quebec in June 2019 with the passing of that province's Bill 21. Bill 21 banned public workers (those who were paid by the government of Quebec - teachers, social workers etc.) from wearing any sort of religious symbol while performing their work duties, (ie, turbans, hijabs, pendants etc.) Question: Should women and men be able to wear what they wish in this country, (not just Quebec) including religious symbols without fear of retribution and discrimination or does the state (provincial or federal government) have the right to ban certain styles of dress as it sees fit? Take a stand, you are either for the right of people to wear what they choose, or you are not. Write a one-two page reflection in response to this question and include at least three points to highlight your stance. Be sure you tie in the Charter of Rights, (ie.
