adavantages for a union to employees is that it can help boost work productivity, result in well trained employee that helps cause a lower turnover rate.
adavantages for a union to employers is well not alot really, lower turn over rates.
disadvantage for a union to employees unions require dues during their duration, may be involved in activities the employee does not agree with.
disadvantage for a union to employer higher cost for wages, workers can group and strike if they think something is unfair without fear of termination, less human resource control.
Why might members of the general public support or have negative views of unions?
Genral public may support unions do to the higher wages, ability to strike if the company does something that seems unfair, and have better training.
However, with the good comes also bad, the companys with unions usually have to charge a bit more for their items as they have to off set the cost of the wages they are paying workers to make the same item as before.
