Introduction

The project will document the end-to-end research and activities carried out to prove a machine learning model to predict how players will play and forecast their performance for their upcoming games.

The emphasis will be on cleaning and transforming the data to produce models for different factors such as passing, shots, etc. These models produce visualizations (graphs and figures) that give a analysis of the selected matches, teams, or players.

For this project we need to gather large amounts of data from games, we have multiple open sources from where we can gather that data:

UnderStat, from this we get shots data of each game with xG and x and y coordinates of each shot on the field.

WhoScored, from this source we can get each player's actions in a game such as pass, block, interception, etc.

Description

Users can view the distinguishing stats that lead to the greatest outcomes and performances. The user can analyze significant events, team statistics, and player data.

Our initiative aims to use data to comprehend and demystify the game of soccer.

Objective

To build a Big Data model that would predict football players' and teams' performances in their upcoming matches based on how they played before.
