Cultural mentoring plays a significant tool in the management of a diverse workforce. It positions workers from various cultural backgrounds concerning the new environment or operations they have found themselves. Understanding of the employer-employee relationship in addition to impacts of workplace diversity to an organization serves as a crucial input to the policy planning of the company. Most organizations believe in the usefulness of workplace diversity since it leads to interactions between various individuals with diverse ideas and also leads to success at the place of work. Despite this opinion, some organizations differ to this opinion because of the problems associated with workplace diversity. They believe that it leads to lack of concentration and causes destruction as well as low performance in the workplace due to preferential treatment and discrimination. It is also appropriate to say that diversity at the workplace is capable of improving workforces in an organization but has its challenges as well. Furthermore, workplace diversity has made companies earn high profits as well as encourage the sharing of carious ideas among the staff.
P.2, Managers in the first place should focus on personal awareness when creating a successful and diverse workforce (Cooper). Both the workers and employers should outline their individual prejudices and organizations should regularly develop, undertake and uphold ongoing awareness and training creation. Managing diversity is more than just providing same chances for employment and managers need to know that change happens at a slow pace but however they should continuously encourage change. Also, managing diversity needs a secure environment for employees and managers to effectively communicate. Such environments include business seminars and social meetings where all members feel comfortable and create a friendly environment listen to others and speak without restrictions (Kolesnikov). Mentoring programs need to be undertaken in order give guidance to employees on how to access information. Also, after employees learn about their faults, they should be given constructive feedback.
