It is important for manager to make decision for the workday without knowing hundred percent what is going to happen through out the day meaning that they are going to have to forecast/predict what might. Manager might have to forecast inventory without knowing what sales will be purchased. There are three types of forecasting economic forecast, technological forecast, and demand forecast.

Economic Forecast: Is used to address the business cycle by predicting things such as inflation rates, money supplies, housing, and other planning indicators.

Technological Forecast: This type of forecasting is used to determine the creation of new products that are required to have a new plant and equipment.

Demand Forecast: This is most important for manager because this forecast is used to project the demand of a companys products or service. Which why is important that manager need to know accurate information about the real drive decisions.
