Well you all have been working hard on learning about the software RS MEANS. It has been a great tool and there are wonderful things you can do with the tool as you move through the profession. As a final we will complete the questions below and turn them in for credit. I want to have you complete the following tasks:

Estimate the cost of the next spread footings. The soil capacity is 6 KSF. The project will be in New York City, New York.

12 spread footings with a loading capacity of 500 kips each

20 spread footings with a loading capacity of 300 kips each

8 spread footings with a loading capacity of 150 kips each

2. Estimate the cost of a reinforced slab on grade, 120 long, 56 wide, 6 thick, nonindustrial, in Chicago, Illinois.

3. Estimate the cost of a CIP waffle slab, 20 25 bays, 40 PSF superimposed load. Total area is 100 50. The building will be located in Phoenix, Arizona.

4. Estimate the cost of a standard exterior CMU block, 8 16 8 with two coats cement stucco, thick. The wall is 8 high and 80 long, located in Miami, Florida.

Add the following items to the estimate in Exercise:

5. What is the cost of providing and installing 10 steel doors, 18 gauge hollow metal, single door, with frame, no label, 3 7 opening? The building is located in Nashville, Tennessee.

6. Estimate the cost of building and finishing interior partitions with a total of 1,200 SF for a building in Boise, Idaho, with the following specs:

fire-rated gypsum board on 2 4 wood studs spaced at 16 OC. Same opposite face, no insulation

Painting, brushwork, primer, and two coats

7. Estimate the cost of the next spread footings. The soil capacity is 3 KSF. The project will be in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

24 spread footings with a loading capacity of 200 kips each

16 spread footings with a loading capacity of 300 kips each

8 spread footings with a loading capacity of 500 kips each

8. Estimate the cost of a reinforced concrete strip footing, 75 long, 16 deep, and 48 wide. The load is 22 KLF and the soil-bearing capacity is 6 KSF. The project will be in Tucson, Arizona.

9. Estimate the cost of a CIP flat plate (slab), 20 20 bays, 125 PSF superimposed load. Total area is 120 80. The building will be located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

10. What is the estimated cost for four 50-long steel pile clusters to carry 400 K load, each? The project is in St. Petersburg, Florida. Assume the piles are:

End-bearing type (use 7 pile-clusters)

Friction type (use 16 pile-clusters)

11. Estimate the cost of a concrete block (CMU) partition, regular weight, hollow, 8 thick, with gypsum plaster. It will get two coats on the inside only. This will be the exterior for a warehouse building, 64 long, 28 wide, and 12 high, and will be located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The building will have these openings
