Unlike "pure cheese" that is made directly from the separation of curd and whey, processed cheese is made from blending curds of different maturities with milk, starch, preservatives and other flavors. This process prolongs the shelf life of the cheese and makes it cheaper and accessible to more customers. Pasteur produces three different types of processed cheese: original, cheddar and wasabi.
