VW is a mass-market car producer and has found its competitiveness slipping away in key markets, largely because of high costs in Germany, where it is based. It has traditionally been reluctant to use low-cost locations for components, unlike rival global carmakers. Also important in the case of VW are the share structure, the German takeover law and the role of Porsche, the family-owned luxury carmaker. The families which own Porsche see the economic benets for themselves of winning control of VW, while the government and trade union prioritize public benets such as employment in the region. Clashes in perspective lead to disagreement over strategy.

My answer..

If I was a shareholder in VW then I would certainly like to see it expanding globally and being competitive with other top automobile players in the world instead of being reluctant to use low-cost locations for components as it will make the VW more profitable and the company management can contribute to the local German society for a long time with those profits. If the company will not book profit then it would be very difficult to sustain the existing employee and will hamper both the economy and the employment.

The home market is crucial for Japanese companies, and, although Japanese consumers were reluctant to spend during the period of economic downturn, there is hope that consumers will regain their desire for the latest electronic equipment. Companies such as Sony and Toshiba look for renewed growth in their home market.

With the elimination of jobs-for-life policy by the Japanese company will be harmful in several ways such as

People will not be extremely dedicated towards the employer because of being fired anytime, Innovation capacity of Japan will reduce drastically because of lack pf people dedication towards employer, Mental and emotional pressure on Japanese employee will rise high because of unsafe working condition, People will not remain loyal with their employer and will think to keep changing the jobs.

This may impact positively on Japanese society because of: People will be more competitive and productive to save their job and indirectly benefit the employer, Efficiency will be increased due to this competitiveness, People will start upskillinh themselves with cutting edged technology and indirectly help the employer to get the highly skilled employeees in various domains.
