Project #5: Scrum exercise

General Instructions:

Suppose your team is hired by Mary to build an online sales system for her toy store see the following video to learn about the toy store project:

Agile: An Introduction Broadcom Infrastructure Software

As Mary wants the system to be up and running in 6 weeks, your team has decided to use Scrum to deliver the system with basic capabilities.

Step 1:

Scrum uses user stories to identify requirements. Take two different user roles (Mary and customer) and come up with 5 user stories based on Marys (owner/manager) role and 15 user stories based on customers role.

Step 2:

Estimate the number of days for each user story in other words, estimate how many days it will take to complete each user story (I know it is difficult to guess based on a hypothetical situation, but just try your best; how accurate your estimate is not important).

Marys e.g., as the owner, I want (feature), so that (benefit)

Step 3:

Now prioritize the user stories, and group them by sprints. You must determine the number of sprints and assign user stories to each sprint. Enter each user story in the provided excel spreadsheet, along with their sprint # and estimated days.

Tip #1: most basic features should be built in first sprint.

Tip #2: the total number of days of user stories assigned in each sprint should be reasonable and equally distributed across sprints.

Step 4:

Use the given excel spreadsheet to fill in burndown table and draw a burndown chart based on the burndown table.

Step 5:

Submit the excel spreadsheet (15 Points).
