Project Draft #1: Describe your process and craft a goal statement Determine a process at your work (or home or community organization) that likely needs systematic improvement. Between forecasting and inventory management in this course, you will be crafting a Lean Six Sigma project proposal, which will build each week. For forecasting, you should describe your process and the context for needing improvement. It would help if you were sure to clarify who is the customer(s) in your method which is a necessary step to determining value. You should end this description with a goal statement of what you would like to see if you were to complete this improvement project. Remember that goals should be SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound). Typically, in order to adequately describe a process and the context of improvement, you should write around 1 page of text. This is a general guideline, as you may be able to describe the process using more/less. During forecasting, you submitted a project description and goal statement. This week, in product and service design , you will continue your project proposal and add your strategy for the MEASURE phase of your project. How will you determine the current state? What type of data will you collect, specifically? Why are you collecting a particular type of data? Describe your plan for identifying waste in your proposed project, collecting data, and the rationale behind those decisions. You can add to your existing draft that you turned in the last Module, but only the new Measure Strategy will be graded. I will give you feedback on your measurement strategy and you will be able to incorporate that feedback for future drafts of your project proposal.
