One of its major achievements has been the development of an innovative and efficient public transportation system. Sustainable urban transportation is exemplified by Curitiba's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, which was put into place under Jaime Lerner's supervision( Green, C. ,2018). The BRT decreases the demand for private vehicles and, as a result, lowers air pollution levels around the city thanks to its designated bus lanes, affordable fares, and well-connected network.
