"Hello class,

What is your biggest take away from the Simon Sink video? How has it enhanced your understanding of change and adaptability?

This Simon Sinek video provides important insights into the concept of change and adaptability. It is essential to understand WHY before telling people WHAT to do, according to Sinek's message. Regardless of the objectives of the organization, influencing others is the key to achieving those objectives. Leadership actions must align with the organization's core values, according to the framework. Creating a culture of change and adaptability begins with understanding leaders' purpose and values. By highlighting the importance of effective communication and leadership qualities in driving change within an organization, this video has enhanced my understanding of change and adaptability.

In what ways has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life? Perceptions? Your environment? How adaptable have those you know been to such changes?

In addition to affecting my perception, environment, and how others around me adapt, the COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly impacted my life. Adapting to a new normal is hard when you wear masks, distancing yourself from others, and working remotely. The internet has changed our perception of the world around us, making us more cautious and vigilant about public health. My environment has also been impacted by the pandemic, with public spaces being less crowded and certain industries being badly hit. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed us to a number of significant challenges and taught us the importance of flexibility and resilience.

Consider the different approaches used by leaders with whom you interact most frequently. How do their styles differ? Do you believe the difference in styles is related to gender, educational level, upbringing? Why or why not?

Leadership approaches employed by the leaders I interact with most frequently differ from one another. The leadership style of one leader emphasizes transformational leadership, encouraging innovation and collaboration among the team members. As a contrast, another leader emphasizes clear expectations and rewards for performance. There are many factors that affect leadership styles, including gender, educational background, and upbringing It is important to consider other factors, as well, including personality, experience, and situation. Multiple factors influence leadership style, which is a complex concept. The use of power occurs on three different levels. The first level is the macro-level, the second level is the team-level, and finally the last level is the individual level. "Managers who have no power base are not doing their jobs" (Quinn et al., 2015, p 245).

What paradox do you find in this unit's assignments

There's a paradox in the unit's assignments about managerial/leadership roles. According to Open Systems Theory, managers are innovators and brokers. A manager's job is to foster creativity and innovation in an organization. They identify new opportunities, implementnew tech, and promote an innovative culture. Managers also serve as brokers, helping to communicate and collaborate within an organization and with stakeholders outside of it. By connecting people, exchanging information, and brokering deals, they facilitate relationships between people. As a result of this paradox, managerial roles are complex, and managers have to be creative and collaborative in order to be successful.
