Purpose: Reflect and articulate the student's experience with the practice of presence.
Throughout this course, you have been invited to pay close attention to the moments you experienced the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gratitude, hope, etc.). Compose an essay reflecting on your experience with this practice. The only grading criteria for this assignment will be whether or not you were on topic (i.e. grammar and formatting will not be graded). Some questions that might help shape your reflections:
- What did you notice as you were intentionally present to the fruits of the Spirit in your life?
- With whom did you consistently experience the fruits of the Spirit? What might you learn from this?
- What difficulties or roadblocks did you experience through this practice?
- What did you learn about yourself?
- What did you learn about your context?
- How did you experience God?
Keep in mind that this reflection essay is for your benefit. If you struggled to engage this practice, that's okay. Reflect on why that was the case. What might you learn through that struggle?
