Question 1
An undivided rural road (total width 11,4m) with 1 lane in each direction, and a camber of 2%, has to be designed to a design spe ed of 100kmhr. A section of this road has a right hand horizontal curve with a superelevation rate of 6,5%. The BC is at stake value 6542,63 and the EC at stake value 6841,28. The vertical alignment for this section of road is as follows;
\table[[Stake value,PI No.,Height of PI,Radius],[5800,00,6,64,83,300],[6600.00,7,43,78,180],[7400,00,8,48.98,400]]
1.1 Show diagrammatically the stake values with the change in crossfall values at the relevant points (as per crown and superelevation development), for the entire curve.
Calculate and tabulate the final road levels (left edge, centre-line and right edge) for the following; SV 6460, SV 6520, SV 6560 and the EC of the horizontal curve.
