IV. PROJECT SUMMARY (SCENARIO) ZeeHome is a well-established construction company in the local market. One of the partners is your friend. Knowing that you have earned a business degree from AUM College of Business and that you have studied business law, he/she offered you a position as an in-house counsel on legal issues. Your job is to provide legal advice in light of the facts of the case, general legal principles and Business ethical values. Case study 1: Given its increasing activity and continuous expansion, ZeeHome has a dynamic Human Resources (HR) department. This department is led by Jim, an ambitious HR manager. Jim has managed so far to recruit very qualified persons in all the company positions. At the end of 2020, ZeeHome decided to open new offices and to recruit additional five engineers. Consequently, the HR department has been asked to proceed with the recruitment process as per ZeeHome recruitment policy, knowing that the policy requires first to advertise the vacancies in at least three local newspapers and on three specialized websites. Jim, who is an employee of ZeeHome as an HR manager, is at the same time a shareholder in a high education institution managed and run by his brother, Professor Tom. It is a university that includes a college of engineering. To meet the needs of Zee Home, Jim decided to award the recruitment task to his brother Tom to fill the vacant positions by fresh graduated engineers from their own university. Jim trusts that Tom, his brother, will provide ZeeHome with the best graduated engineers. At a business dinner organized by Zee Home, Jim was introduced to Rayan, a fresh graduated architect. After two weeks, Rayan gave a visit to Jim carrying with him an incredibly special gift: a handmade Swiss watch. Surprised by the generosity of this new acquaintance, Jim felt intimidated. At first, he refused. Rayan insisted. Succumbed to the charm of the expensive watch, the HR manager of ZeeHome" abdicated. Students must identify and explain the categories of ethical behavior relevant to the dilemmas raised by Jim's behavior. Students are expected to define the selected categories and link them to the respective behavior. Students must define and explain Blanchard and Peale Three-Part Test. Application: Application 1.1 Students must explain the problematic behaviors made or intended by Jim. They should then compare these behaviors to what is supposed to be an ethical behavior based on the relevant category of ethical behavior while explaining the consequences of the problematic behaviors on the respective stakeholders. Application 1.2 Students should apply Blanchard and Peale Three-Part Test and explain in details the analysis made. Conclusion: Students must conclude by giving their opinion based on ethical considerations (ethical behavior categories and test) answering if Jim has respected his ethical professional obligations and advise him on the best ethical behaviour to adopt as an HR manager
