(2 marks) (b) Supposing that the conditions in part (a) hold, conduct the appropriate parametric test to investigate the claim made in the newspaper article. Clearly state your null and alternative hypotheses and explain your conclusion. (15 marks) (c) In 2017, the researcher had also collected data on the average wages per 4 hour of manual workers in these same firms. State the conditions under which a parametric test (Z or t) could be used to investigate the claim that the wages per 12 hour have increased during the past two years. Which statistical test would you recommend? Justify your choice of test and clearly state the null and alternative hypotheses. If the value of the test statistic is calculated to be 1.860, clearly state your conclusion. (8 marks)
