Jeanette was hired to run Wilkins hospital. The hospital was struggling; it had high employee turnover rates, low morale, limited funding for new research initiatives, and an overall bad reputation. As Jeanette rolled up her sleeves and began to gather more information about the hospital, she discovered that there was a lack of structure from the top down, which was a source of great frustration. There was no universal mission or vision for the hospital, either. She also learned that one of the reasons that lead to high employee turnover was that the employees did not feel valued; they didn$$t receive any sort of performance reviews and were not motivated to work hard. They also did not trust the leaders of the hospital.
