The organizational culture at Disney upholds management's power and control in the organization. Management encourages members to monitor their own behavior even when management is not around. They do this through things rewarding organizational members who tell on their peers, and dressing up like guests to "catch" members who are "out of line." These actions create a culture that is oppressive and marginalizes those who have new ideas, differing opinions, or who may need to speak out against something troubling. Disney's culture stifles participation, creativity, and decision making for most employees. Through Disney's well-known company name and branding, they are able to get away with paying their employees very little, yet never run out of people who want to work there. Hence, they profit off of marginalizing vulnerable members of the organization.
