Read through your classmate's one body paragraph again. Is there a topic sentence? Do the sentences flow smoothly from one to the next? Are there any places where you feel the flow is disrupted? Explain why and offer specific suggestions. If there are no places where you feel the flow is disrupted, explain specifically what your classmate has done to make the paragraph flow well? Does the paragraph seamlessly incorporate resource information? Is resource information effectively used and cited? Is there a strong conclusion sentence that helps close out the topic? If not, how could they make it stronger? Banning certain books can inhibit children from learning about and discussing certain topics. Books regarding profound subjects such as social justice, sexuality, grief, survival, etc. are very important when kids become a certain age. According to Rivera and Flynn (2022), when dealing with adolescent students, that is the best time to allow kids to educate themselves about different topics in literature to explore subjective opinions, feelings, and experiences. When kids become of age to read and understand what they are reading, it will certainly broaden their critical thinking skills. Allowing students to have the choice to read about subjects they care about or are interested in will not broaden critical thinking, it will permit open conversations to allow for healthy debates
