The immediate precedence relationships are: Activity B must be finished before D and E can start. Activity C must be finished before A and D can start. Activity E must be finished before G and H can start. Activity F must be finished before C and I can start.

(i) Draw an appropriate network diagram to correctly represent the project. (ii) Calculate the Earliest start time, the Earliest finishing time, the Latest start time, the Latest finishing and the Float for each activity.

(iii) Identify the critical path and calculate the overall project completion time. (iv) Explain clearly (with reasons) the effect upon the overall project completion time if the completion time for activity B increases from 9 weeks to 17 weeks while at the same time the completion time for activity I increases from 9 weeks to 16 weeks. Identify what action, if any, which the project manager has to take.
