Resource Management Plan putting one together: Scenario As the project manager, youve been tasked with putting together a team to deliver a new set of parking lot signs for the neighborhood church. These signs will help the members of the church find their way into and out of the parking lot, and help the elderly find their way to the loading/unloading zone. In this way, traffic should flow more smoothly and there should be less chaos every Sunday. The work will include delivering 6 signs with proper wording and clarity, taking delivery of them, determining their location, digging the holes, filling with concrete, placing the sign into each hole, and refilling/securing the sign. As each sign goes in, it will be covered up so drivers cant read them, until all signs are installed, then they will be revealed, and the members are expected to conform. This project is expected to take one month. You estimate youll need up to 7 people to complete this project. In addition, there will also be a representative from the City to help with the wording on the signs to ensure they are aligned to all standards. For this scenario, there are two parts the resource management plan itself and how you will go about acquiring the resources. You will want to refer back to the resource management plan you sourced online for help in the format. The expectations as to what to include are below:
PART 1 Resource Management Plan 1. Summary of the project. 2. Methods for identifying and quantifying the team resources and physical resources needed. 3. How you will go about acquiring the team and physical resources for the project. 4. Roles and Responsibilities of team members (please consider the authority, responsibility, and competence needed for each). 5. RACI chart (see page 317 in PMBOK for an example). 6. Project org chart. 7. Team resource management how will the team resources be staffed, managed, and what is the criteria for releasing team members? 8. Identification of training needs. 9. Methods for developing team members so they can be productive and safe on the team. 10. Plan for recognition and rewards.
PART 2 Acquire Resources 1. Project team assignments Team member names and their roles/responsibilities for the project. 2. Resource calendar identify the available working days, shifts, start/end time of hours of each specific resource.
