As the project manager, you've been tasked with putting together a team to deliver a new set
Question:
As the project manager, you've been tasked with putting together a team to deliver a new set of parking lot signs for the neighborhood church. These signs will help the members of the church find their way into and out of the parking lot, and help the elderly find their way to the loading/unloading zone. In this way, traffic should flow more smoothly and there should be less chaos every Sunday.
The work will include delivering 6 signs with proper wording and clarity, taking delivery of them, determining their location, digging the holes, filling with concrete, placing the sign into each hole, and refilling/securing the sign. As each sign goes in, it will be covered up so drivers can't read them, until all signs are installed, then they will be revealed, and the members are expected to conform. This project is expected to take one month.
You estimate you'll need up to 7 people to complete this project. In addition, there will also be a representative from the City to help with the wording on the signs to ensure they are aligned to all standards.
Referring back to your Communications Plan and the stakeholders you identified, please complete the three parts of this assignment per the below:
Stakeholder Management Plan
Stakeholder Analysis:
- Create an influence/interest or power/impact grid.
- Label each quadrant.
- Plot each stakeholder into the appropriate quadrant of the grid.
Stakeholder Register:
- Create a stakeholder register; please use the same chart format that was outlined in the video, "Stakeholder Register & Power Interest Grid", and create a stakeholder register (you will have 10 columns).
- Thinking back on the analysis completed for #1, please list each stakeholder and assess who they are across all 10 columns.
- For Category, please determine if your stakeholder is neutral (A), resistor (B), or positive (C) about the outcome of this project.
- Stakeholder Management Strategy:
- Reviewing your stakeholder analysis, determine a stakeholder management strategy for each of the 4 quadrants:
- What actions will you be taking for each? They need to be different as you will manage a high influence/high interest, for example, much differently than a low influence/low interest stakeholder.
- Reviewing your stakeholder analysis, determine a stakeholder management strategy for each of the 4 quadrants:
- Reviewing your stakeholder register, determine a stakeholder management strategy for each of the A, B, Cs (neutral, resistor, positive).
- What actions will you be taking in order to manage these 3 types of stakeholders so that your project can be successful?
