respond to this post:For this discussion the ADDIE model will be compared to the Dick and Carey model. These two models have many similarities, but the Dick and Carey model includes four extra steps. The ADDIE model is composed of five steps: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This model represents the general concepts that must be included in an instructional design. Both the ADDIE model and the Dick and Carey model utilize a linear method which can endure weakness within the design due to lack of implementing changes that occur over time (Mastrian et al., 2011). The ADDIE model has been found to be the most effective when utilized with items that are easily measurable. This form of model must be utilized in the linear manor meaning completing each stoep one by one and not skipping through steps. Creativity within the ADDIE model is a weakness noted (Mastrian et al., 2011). The Dick and Carey model is similar in the fact that each step must be completed in order and no skipping of steps is permitted.
