Step 1: preparation

Step 3:practice
The trainee should be allowed to practice the task while the trainer observes. This allows the trainer to provide the trainee with feedback and correct any errors.
Step 4: performance
The trainees on the job use of the new skills. Ongoing observation and feedback help the employee learn how to do task correctly.

The four steps of the Training Method are:
Preparation - At my job, we have to make different platters (fruit, charcuterie, etc.). We have a book displaying how the trays should be made with pictures and amounts to make it easy for the trainee to understand how the platters should be built and presented.
Presentation - Showing the trainee all the different produce that can be used with certain trays and showing them examples of trays to give them an idea of how they should look.
Practice- Allowing the trainee to make a fruit and cheese platter to observe how they go about putting it together
Performance- Trainee learning how to make the platters without the assistance of the book or questions from the trainer.
