Retailing and Different Social Media Platforms

This activity is important because marketers should understand how different social media platforms provide marketers with the ability to provide direct retail sales functions via social media.

According to Amys principles of marketing professor, she is to examine four social media platforms she usesFacebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterestand talk with friends to determine which product would be best to sell using each platform. Amy's professor mentioned in class that Facebook's typical audience was older, more affluent and more likely to buy themed or seasonal products while Twitter's audience was younger, more educated and technologically savvy. Amy's professor went on to say Instagram users were typically younger and more interested in sports and fashion while Pinterest audience was older, more likely to be female, and more interested in handmade products.

The goal of this exercise is to assist Amy by sorting each of the product examples into one of the four social media platforms.
