Scenario: An experience in which Tim did not

Scenario: An experience in which Tim did not communicate effectively with a colleague is when he was trying to get ahead of a project at work and when he was explaining on the steps to move forward, they disagreed with the idea and the steps. Based on the Shannon-Weaver model (if Tim understands correctly) the problems that occurred from the communication was a semantic problem, because there was a lack of communicating what the goal is as well as the follow through and how to make the goal a reality, as well as a lack of understanding as to why they would want to get a head on the project. The communication was ineffective based on the transactional model is epistemology. If Tim would have started the conversation by what the goal is and why it would be beneficial and then lay out the steps to be successful, Tim thinks the conversation would have gone much differently. Tim also thinks they could have communicated more effectively if Tim would have paid attention to what his colleague was working on when Tim attempted to have the conversation, as well as the time of day. Also, if Tim could have found evidence that could allow them to move forward successfully there would be more of a chance of their conversation going a different way. Question 1: What can they do as the sender, to get the listener (receiver) to pay attention? Please provide an example. Question 2: What specific steps can you take to improve your ability to listen? Please briefly explain in a short paragraph for each question "separately". (PLEASE DON'T PROVIDE JUST BULLETS POINTS ANSWERS)
