Scenario: The manager of the workplace call centre has come to you, the HR advisor, because they have identified a 'problem' employee. This employee, according to the supervisor, has come in late to work on two occasions in the past week. The call centre is very busy. If an employee is late or absent, the calls get backed up, customers get frustrated, and the workload is doubled for other employees who have to pick up the slack. The supervisor has completed their own investigation, has all of the facts, and can confirm that the employee was indeed late. The supervisor wants the employee disciplined.
