1) I am analyzing Southwest for my project. They use a platform called SWAG for employee incentives. Employees can go onto SWAG to send a "Kick Tail" or a shoutout to another employee, or are able to nominate employees for awards. These awards are called "SWAG Points" and can be used to purchase merch, gift cards, and other treats. This uplifts employees by "Creating a work atmosphere in which there is genuine caring and mutual respect among workers and between management and employees" (Chapter 11). This motivates employees to work hard & encourage their coworkers to do the same. This also is a key aspect in the company's culture, creating a fun, encouraging, and cooperative atmosphere that leads employees to gift each other for hard work, rather than working selfishly.

2) Microsoft uses a well-known method of motivation and rewards known as "Stock-Based Compensation." Under this strategy, grants or options to purchase business shares are given to employees as a sort of incentive. By giving people a stake in the organization's performance, it ties employee interests to the long-term success of the business. Microsoft uses stock-based remuneration for a variety of reasons. First of all, it serves as a potent weapon for luring and keeping top talent. Microsoft may entice qualified experts who are driven by the prospect of large financial benefits by giving them the chance to share in the company's financial progress. By encouraging a sense of loyalty and ownership towards the organization, this strategy also aids in employee retention.
