Structures interviews provide an interviewer with knowledge on the applicants past experience. Depending on the types of questions asked, an employer can pinpoint if the applicant has the experience the employer is looking for. These interviews are popular because they get the employer the information they need in short amount of time. What they don't provide is a look at how the applicant can possibly handle new/unknown situations which is also important to understanding the development needs of the applicant.
