Case Study 2: "Blood Donation" Aminah, the director of nursing at a district hospital in Perak, is concerned about the declining number of blood donors. It is April, and Aminah knows that the approaching Eid al-Fitr and festive moods among the Malaysian society will mean increased demands for blood and decreased supply, especially of rare blood types. Normally, there will be uncalled road accidents among motorists during festive seasons. To Aminah's excitement, TRIM Incorporated, a large multinational corporation offers to host a series of blood donation drives at all its branches, beginning at its corporate headquarters. Aminah, with open hands accepted the offer. She immediately organised a team of nurses to be at the corporate site. Soon after Aminah and her team arrived at the site, she hears a complaint. Apparently, a nurse named Shaliza was drawing blood from a male donor with a rare blood type when the donor purposely touched her body. Shaliza jumped back and began to cry. Hattan, a male colleague, sprang to Shaliza's defence and forced the donor to leave the premises. To Shaliza's horror, the male donor is a senior manager at TRIM Incorporated. 1.
