SUBJECT: Quality Auditing
1) At this point in the course you have planned and outlined your fast food restaurant internal audit, and you're excited to start auditing! This exercise will be a "script" of how the audit takes place. Please submit a script of the audit itself. Start out by describing who is being audited, as well as what department and processes; only reflect a single auditee. Then provide a script that may look like this:
Auditor: Good morning, how are you? Auditee: Great, thanks! It's so lovely to be audited this morning! Auditor: And I'm glad to be here as well; lets get started... Action: Auditee smiles contently.
Now of course it is important that as an auditor you have a plan, as you have learned, so be sure you are auditing for a purpose. And of course since no audit ever goes perfectly, be sure to include auditee responses that you are not comfortable with, and your response to resolve the issue.
Be certain that your script reflects situations involving the following topics, in general (do not address each specifically in sections, just generally touch on as many as possible; again, this is not intended to be a 10 page assignment):
a. The opening meeting. b. Interviewing techniques. c. Conflict during an audit. e. Audit flow. f. Evaluate process operations. g. The use of audit checklists. h. Identifying and acquiring objective evidence. i. The closing meeting purpose and how to conduct. j. Auditor ethics. k. Be certain that there is at least one non-conformance finding, one effectiveness finding, and one suggestion for improvement.
Be creative and thorough. This assignment should be fun, but also it should be written with intent; remember that your purpose is to audit for conformance as well as effectiveness; this should be seen in your script.
