Summarized this section explain why this section cut your interest (in one paragraph)

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS TRAINING A number of basic workplace competencies involve working effectively with other people.123 These skills, sometimes called soft skills, include communication, customer relations, selling, teamwork, and negotiation.124 All can be improved through training. It is estimated that organizations spend over 10 percent of their investment in formal learning on interpersonal skills training.125 Interpersonal skills training cover a wide range of topics, including team building, listening skills, and delegation skills. Three trends have increased the need for interpersonal skills training.126 The first trend is a movement by organizations toward team-based approaches to accomplishing work, which usually involve team training with a strong interpersonal component. Second, high school and college graduates may lack the communication skills that organizations require. Third, organizations are becoming more multicultural. With changing labor market demographics and the growth of multinational organizations, more organizations are developing cultural diversity programs. These courses are intended to address incorrect assumptions, values, and beliefs people have about other cultures, with the desired outcome being the development of more effective cross-cultural interpersonal skills. These efforts are discussed in Chapter 15. Three types of interpersonal skills training are discussed next: sales training, customer service training, and teamwork training. Werner, Jon M..
