Make sure to note the total morphemes for each utterance (line). Calculate the MLU for the child. MLU = (# of morphemes) / (# of utterances) = MLU = ( )/ ( Once you have calculated the MLU, look at the Normative References for Interpreting Mean Length of Utterances (MLU).
