Introduction and Alignment

Before a project begins, there must be an established need or a problem to solve. A System Vision Document is a pre-project activity that briefly describes a problem and then gives a basic overview of how the new system works. It is often used to help obtain approval for a project to begin.

Instructions

Read Chapter Case on page 31, focusing on "Day 0: Define the Vision".

Complete Assignment D0-1 by writing a 1 page rough draft of the System Vision Document based on your brainstorming ideas. See figure 1.8 on page 13 of your textbook for an example of a System Vision Document. The final document must be in Word format.

Complete Assignment D1-1 by writing a 1-2 pages rough draft of the Work Breakdown Structure Document based on your brainstorming ideas. See figure 1.9 on page 14 of your textbook for an example of a Work Breakdown Document. The final document must be in Word format.

When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself first. On the Main Menu, select Workshop One, and submit your document by attaching it to the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
