She is not afraid of using the latest in technology, but does not know what options are available. The office has one old computer which has never been updated or properly maintained. Forever Treasures has a warehouse with thousands of antique items and a store-front with hundreds more. She wants to replace the store-fronts old manual cash register with a computer, begin selling merchandise online to expand the market from local to global, and track incoming and outgoing inventory more efficiently. She has questions about what computers to buy, internet connection speed, and mobile device capabilities for inventory and sales. She is also concerned about hackers and online security when selling items online. She wants a completely new and upgraded system for her growing Forever Treasures store. During an observation visit at Forever Treasurers, you gathered the following data: Inventory in the warehouse is disorganized making it difficult to locate items quickly The warehouse manager rarely leaves the office because he is swamped with sorting out order slips, inventory counts, product arrival verification, and packing-slip creation for customer shipments. Several warehouse workers expressed frustration over the fact that their paychecks have not been accurate based on the hours they worked. Warehouse workers are also concerned that they cant keep up with tracking inventory at the rate that it is coming and going. The in-store clerks are worried that a new fancy computer system will be too difficult to learn and they may lose their jobs. The in-store clerks reported that it is virtually impossible to select quality items from the warehouse to be put on display for sale due to the chaos in the warehouse.
