In the Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Order 1997, an employer of the class of industries listed in the order including the chemical industries must employ a competent and qualified person to act as a safety and health officer at the work place. Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations 1997 have been made and provide details of registration of SHO, notification of SHO, duties of SHO and employer.
Imagine that you are a Safety and Health Officer (SHO) at a chemical factory, prepare a REPORT including following matters:
- Give an introduction of a selected chemical factory.
- State and explain the sections in Occupational Safety and Health (Safety and Health Officer) Regulations 1997 that stated the qualification for safety and health officer in ensuring the health, safety and welfare at work of all his employees especially in chemical industry.
