Task $3$: UPS

Case: According to University regulations, a Course Evaluation has to be conducted every semester. Therefore, several mandatory and$/$ or elective courses are evaluated in every faculty. After the courses are approved by the faculty council, the enrolled students get a link $($Token$)$ to take part in the evaluation and to access the online questionnaire. On the next page you will find the overall participation results of the Faculty of Business Administration from Winter Semester.

Frequently, the Dean complains about the following two issues: $($A$)$ The participation ratio is too low and $($B$)$ The portion of excluded courses is too high. With regard to the second issue, if the course$-$related participation ratio is less than $20\%$ and$/$ or the total number of participants is less than $6,$ then this particular course has to be excluded from evaluation. All in all, the participation results have been dissatisfying in the past few years and should be improved as soon as possible.

Tasks:

a$)$ Please describe the considered steps and tools of the UPS methodology briefly.

b$)$ Apply the UPS steps and tools to analyze the Problem $($A$)$ mentioned by the Dean.

c$)$ Conduct a $($root$)$ cause analysis and verification by using the given data sheet.
