Problem statement 1:
A key challenge in knowledge management today is the lack of a developed culture in SMEs to guarantee the acknowledgment of a knowledge management system (Niemann,2022; Njabulo, 2005; Kaweevisultrali, 2007; Cunningham, 2021). The rejection of knowledge management systems occurs with limited or no support when the proper culture for utilizing knowledge management is not practiced in the organization (Heijst,1996; Robertson, 2000). The root of the problem is the lack of alignment of knowledge management systems and the business strategy to develop a knowledge management culture in the SME (Moodaley,2002; Yin, 2020; Story, 2018).
