The Financial Accounts of the United States (flow of funds or FoF) is a great source of data to understand the circular flow of economic resources in the financial system. A key shortcoming of these data, however, is that they are US centric and are not useful for understanding or analyzing the structure of the financial system outside the US. The ECB publishes a regular Statistics Bulletin that shares many of the same features of the FoF. some of the data in the statistics bulletin to assess the structure of the European financial system.
