The professional culture they come from in the company. The advantage of this is that each profession brings different strengths and perspectives to the corporate culture. This makes the organization stronger and better able to face challenges. Workforce diversity in terms of cultural mixes, can be an advantage because it has been shown to increase profitability and increase innovation (McKibbon,2016). In healthcare, there are many different professions. There are direct clinical staff which includes the following nurses, doctors, and pharmacists to name just a few of them. Also, there are administrative staff, maintenance workers, food services workers, and housekeeping. These can be very different professions with cultural differences. An obvious cultural difference is the amount of education required for each of these professions. In many ways, the direct clinical staff functions under a culture rich with degrees and diplomas. Maintenance and staff are comprised of blue-collar workers with little formal education. In addition, "according to Norton & Fox (1997), these cultural differences can be brought together by creating an organizational culture. This organizational culture is founded on the belief that everyone must have the same goals and by speaking the same language". This means that the culture of the company becomes the culture for all individuals regardless of what individual.
