Question:
They can collect much stuff from us just by allowing them access to our phones. We are giving them access to usage information, content information, device information, device phone book, camera, photos, audio, location information, information collected by cookies and other technologies, and log information.
How Long We Keep Your Information
This is a bit concerning for a couple of reasons. First, the way Snapchat is set up can allow the user to send and receive pictures and messages, and once they are open, they will disappear from the server. This could allow someone to be sent inappropriate messages and photos, and unless the person or even a child reports it, we wouldn't know. So this seems to be a security issue and raises significant concerns for me.
Community Guidelines
They claim to not allow this violation according to community guidelines but will not do anything when you report the situation. We have seen it happen many times. For example, the guy who went on a shooting rampage at Westgate because he felt the need to kill overs over rejection. We watch presidential ads trashing other candidates, and we have people on Snapchat who claim to be influencers talking about personal, professional, and other issues and harassing others. Snapchat truly does not stick to these guidelines.
I have stopped using Snapchat almost wholly. I have some friends who send me articles there, but other than that, I will not use Snapchat.
