They do have several laptops that they would like to be able to be able to move from office to office. The business is not particularly large, so you do not need to plan for a network that can span multiple buildings. They do require the use of the internet. They want a network which can grow with their business needs, and they don't want to neglect security.

A diagram of how the network would be laid out

This should show how the devices are physically connected to each other. You can assume that the building layout will allow these connections. You do not need to consider the physical layout of rooms. I recommend using either generic "network" icons or Cisco icons, and please label your diagram.
