This assignment is designed to make you think critically about hospitality ethics and how everyday life is interconnected. Your task is to analyze an ethical dilemma in the hospitality industry throughout the course of our semester. Think of this as a personal case study. It would be beneficial for you to examine different kinds of experiences each time but ultimately, that is your choice. You need to find an ethical dilemma that actually happened versus using a hypothetical one. Find something that is intriguing to you- a current event, national news, or a questionably ethical experience you've personally encountered. If you have any questions about whether an experience is suitable, then ask. Part of this assignment is your opportunity to word vomit but the ending needs to be eloquent and concise. Length of paper: 3.pages minimum For this assignment please include the following: What is the ethical dilemma? Briefly summarize the dilemma and why you choose it (1-2 paragraphs). Now talk me through your process of understanding the dilemma (1-2 paragraphs per point): o Context of how you experienced/where you found it o Initial thoughts o Additional research you did o Did you have a seesaw moment aka a moment where you were unsure what was the right decision? o What alternative solutions arose in your mind? How common do you think this is? What would you do in this situation if you were: o The employee The customer o The manager Address how you could apply information from what you experienced to a future management position that you will hold. Conclude by defending your stance on the position - this should not be word vomit- this should be clear, concise, and logical. Provide any source information if necessary . This paper should be focused on providing your personal opinions and thoughts related to the ethical dilemma and how it could connect to the material that we have covered (or you expect we will cover) in class. Use critical thinking to organize and express your take on the value of the exercise and the real-world applications that it provides. Refer to your syllabus for specific formatting instructions
